The Creating Educational Opportunities (CEOs) for Art Program is the Institute’s corporate membership program which allows companies to enjoy the benefits of Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art membership while encouraging the relationship between the visual arts and businesses in Augusta. CEOs membership demonstrates your company’s belief that the arts make Augusta a more desirable place to live for the community.

Your corporate support
  • provides an artist-in-residence to teach art through interdisciplinary lessons to the fourth- and fifth-grade students at Craig-Houghton Elementary School in downtown Augusta.
  • endows our free outreach after-school program, ArtVentures, which provides instruction on the fundamentals of art to students at thirteen underserved elementary schools.
  • generates merit and need-based scholarships for adult and youth students wishing to enroll in art classes or family workshops.
  • enables the Gertrude Herbert to offer free admission for residents and guests to enjoy the contemporary art exhibitions and historic architecture found on its campus.
Being a CEOs member also gives area businesses the chance to network together at various functions, to bring clients and employees to a community event in an enlightening atmosphere, to gain exposure to the diverse audience that travels through GHIA’s doors and to garner favor in the community as a supporter of arts education.

As one CEOs member said, “It just makes good business sense. Making innovative and effective business decisions demands the same kind of creativity that is found in the world of art at the Gertrude Herbert.”
